Things I Can’t Wait for at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

While I wait for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this August, I wanted to dive into some of the things the planet of Batuu will have to offer. I compiled a quick list of things I can’t wait to see or eat the next intergalactic trip I have to the Outer Rim Territories. Let me know what you’re most excited about!

The totally immersive experience

As a kid I always loved escaping to the Walt Disney World Resort with my family because of how much of a bubble I thought we were in. Nothing negative ever happened to me while at Disney, because HEY! I was at Disney. Now that I’m older, I can truly appreciate how much detail Walt Disney Imagineering puts into their work.

When Pandora: The World of Avatar opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened in 2017, I admit I couldn’t wait to spend an abundance of my time there just to look around and explore all of the new species of plants, rocks, and of course the floating mountains! Now that Galaxy’s Edge is in the home stretch of completion in Florida, I’ve been reading up on what I have to look forward to.

When I was able to visit Pandora, some of my favorite things about the land was how lush and green everything was, and how any colors used were either very vibrant or bioluminescent at night. With Black Spire Outpost, I can’t wait to feel the sense of a real village and low key sense of hideaway. I have also seen the new Coca-Cola bottled beverages the outpost will be selling. I love that they look like thermal detonators, and are even written in Aurebesh, one of the most popular languages in the galaxy. It’s the little things like that I believe will make the opening of Galaxy’s Edge worth the wait.

The merchandise

I genuinely cannot hold myself back when it comes to Disney Parks merchandise. I am a sucker for mugs, hoodies, t-shirts, and pins. While catching up on my Disney news, I took a peek at some of the merchandise the park will be offering.

The first thing I need to do is learn how to adopt a porg! At the Creature Stall, you can adopt your very own pet porg, tauntaun, wampa, rathtar, or worrt! The toys are interactive, and make noise as you play with them. The last thing I can’t wait to bring home with me, is one of the non-alcoholic drinks in a mug! Specifically, the Cliff Dweller, because porgs are just TOO cute, okay? Speaking of drinks… I’m also most excited about…

The Food

Now that I am of legal age, I am beyond excited to spend some time at Oga’s Cantina for some otherworldly drinks! Some of the beverages I’m interested in are the Bespin Fizz, and the Carbon Freeze! As an adult, I can fully appreciate a great meal. There is nothing that makes me happier than food at Disney World. I love everything from the classic snacks like a Dole Whip, to grabbing a feast at ‘Ohana.

In Galaxy’s Edge, I have no doubt the chefs will blow us away with the cuisine they whip up for us as guests. If someone could please let me know how the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip is, I would appreciate it because the pictures I see makes it look delicious! Of course, something I’ve been excited for since The Force Awakens came out, the Milk Stand! I cannot wait to get my hands on an ice cold glass of blue and green milk! Nothing made me laugh harder than seeing Luke Skywalker with a milk mustache, and I can’t wait to recreate that in Batuu.

Let me know what you’re looking forward to in Galaxy’s Edge, whether it be in Disneyland or at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I’m personally hoping to get there after the crowds die down a little bit, if ever! I have always loved Star Wars, and I cannot wait to experience it first hand in real life, starting this summer.
