About Me

The Disney Outpost is a lifestyle/travel/history blog focusing on all things Disney (and a little bit of everything else) both in the parks and at home.

I originally started blogging about Disney during my Disney College Program (with an adorable old blogger site called “Brittany Earns Her Ears.” That blog led to my inclusion in the Earning Your Ears book series by Theme Park Press, where I shared my experiences working at Walt Disney World in Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A.

After my DCP, I continued writing about the program hear, offering application and interview tips for potential future CPs. Lots of time has passed though, and the DCP is changing (new apartments?! I lived in Vista WaaAaaaAaAaay.) While I’m happy to share my experiences still, I’m probably not the most up-to-date source of information anymore, but that’s okay…

…Following a bit of an identity crisis in which I really wasn’t sure what to do with this space anymore, I’ve decided to just…wait for it…write whatever I want! About Disney, that is. I really want to focus more on history posts– That’s my real passion with Disney, and while I freelance for a couple of theme park sites, I’m really just missing having my own voice and total control over what I write.

I basically want to write more posts like this one, about where the Carousel of Progress family lives, or this one, about the oldest attraction in the Magic Kingdom.

I think I’ll still share some dining reviews and short anecdotal trip reports when I feel I have something interesting to say, but generally…I just want a place to research my favorite nostalgic bits of Disney theme park history.

Posts on other topics will be making their way over to my personal blog, brittrose.com, and I hope you’re able to join me on either or both blogs for Disney history, travel tips, and…who knows what else?!

Thanks for reading + if you need to get in touch, you can contact me here.
