If you haven’t guessed it from the title of this post (and my last post), I’m done with Blogmas. I feel like I’m supposed to feel like a failure, but I don’t.
Blogmas is a fun concept and it would probably work really well if you can plan all of it in advance. I tried to plan all of it in advance, but I only made it to about the 11th day and the rest I was writing in real time. And I don’t want this to sound like I’m making excuses… I failed at my first attempt at Blogmas, but it’s fine.
Since I didn’t have enough posts ready to go before Blogmas started, I ended up writing in real time, and for the past couple of days I’ve been trying to squeeze in more Blogmas posts between working on all of my other freelancing, and it just feels like I was forcing out crappy posts just to get them up for Blogmas. And I don’t want to do that. If you plan for Blogmas far enough in advance that you can actually put out quality posts every day for the whole month then that’s great. But unfortunately I had to put Blogmas aside to get other work done, and writing Blogmas posts at midnight or later for the following day without any real plan just felt like I’d be putting out a lower quality post and if that’s the case I’d rather not.
Hopefully you weren’t really looking forward to 15 more posts this month (there will be more posts, but not every single day!), but if you were, I’m really sorry! Maybe I’ll try Blogmas again next year, but for now it’s better that I’m focusing on posts we already had planned and some of my other work.
+ If you’re a blogger (or vlogger) still in the midst of Blogmas, I’m wishing you the best of luck!
