In case we needed another reason to love the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, they’re hosting some of the most unique holiday festivities in Disney! Each year, Santa and Mrs. Claus accompanied by Kandy Kane the elf vacation at the resort!
For guests, Santa’s Florida getaway means meet and greets in their best vacation get-ups and specialty entertainment offerings just for the season! Guests can meet the crew in a Tiki hut on select nights throughout the season (talk about CHRISTMAS CARDS!). I’m all about having the must unique and fun photos for Christmas cards, and you definitely can’t beat Santa with a Hawaiian print shirt and decor like reindeer, palm trees, and of course lawn flamingos!
The resort is also hosting a “Florida Snowfall” and tree lighting ceremony with changing holiday lights and a 24-ft. tall Christmas tree gracing the lobby. While in the main areas of the resorts, guests can also experience special “indoor snowfalls” creating the perfect festive holiday scene. If you’re staying at the resorts this season (or are planning to stop by during your Disney trip) check with the schedule at the front desk to see which nights Mrs. Claus will be in the Dolphin lobby for the tree lighting! After the lighting, stick around for hot holiday beverages and kids crafts.
If you are staying at the resorts (and you’re bringing the kids) you can make a reservation for “Bedtime Elf Tuck-Ins.” Have Santa’s elves deliver milk (in a souvenir cup), cookies, and a storybook to your resort room and then enjoy a bedtime story with the elves after a long day in the theme parks. Prices vary and reservations are required so contact the resort directly if you’re interested at 407-934-4206.
Whether or not you’re staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, there is one holiday event that you need to add to your Epcot resort tour this season! The resorts are featuring a lifesize chocolate holiday Santa scene which weighs in at about 2,000 pounds! Created by the resort’s executive pastry chef Laurent Branlard, you can find this piece of art in the lobby at the Swan side of the resort.
Just walking through the Epcot Resort Area? The outdoor causeway of the resorts is illuminated with holiday lights that are synchronized to music through the end of the month! (Perfect for if you’re still missing the Osborne Lights!) See the light shows nightly from sunset to 10 pm.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is planning an extra bit of magic for Christmas eve, so if you happen to be staying at the resort then don’t miss Magic Keys for Santa! On December 24, pick up a magic key from the concierge desk to help Santa find is way to your room without a chimney!
