It’s hard to believe that it’s been TWO YEARS since Brittany Earns Her Ears was published by Theme Park Press!
Theme Park Press is “the world’s leading independent publisher of books about the Disney company, its history, its films and animation, and its theme parks.” In addition to Brittany Earns Her Ears, the company has published nine other books written by Disney College Program alumni about their experiences with the program as part of the Earning Your Ears series.
Brittany Earns Her Ears focuses on the Fall 2014 Disney College Program, when I worked in DinoLand U.S.A. in merchandise (ie: a little bit of selling actual products and a whole lot of running carnival games in Chester and Hester’s DinoRama).
Although DinoLand U.S.A. was initially the last possible location I wanted to work before I arrived on my program, I came to love it in a strange sort of way. There were days where taking care of guests at Comet Crasher were hot and exhausting, and probably too many where I switched shifts for different locations, but I am so grateful for this experience.
It’s not everyday that you can be forced into the only part of your favorite place that you really dislike, and not only make it work but also get so much more out the experience than you ever thought possible. If you are considering pursuing an internship with Disney, or are just curious about what it’s like to work for the mouse, I highly recommend any of the books in the series.
